As you know, I have thick, long, curly hair. This is a sponge for smoke. So when I go out here, I come back to the apartment reeking like smoke. The worst was after going to the club Dizzengoff, which is really popular on Tuesday nights. I came home, scrubbed my face, blew my nose, trying to get as much smoke out as possible. While I was sleeping, whenever I turned my face, I could smell the smoke in my hair and would start gagging in my sleep, waking myself up. In the morning, I couldn't wait to take a shower and even in there, the smoky scent made me so sick. It's really not good for people with curly hair to shampoo their hair everyday. But here, I have to because the smoke just lingers.
I have no doubt that the smoke is why I couldn't breathe that entire second week I was here. My sinuses were inflamed. My sinuses turned against me because I was turning against them by going to these smoky places.
That was my rant. I hope you enjoyed it. Israel is an awesome place to visit/live! Don't let the smoke stop you. But it wouldn't be truly my blog without me complaining about it. Thanks. :)
Thanks to my cousin, Shemi, for posing for the "Smoking Kills" picture.
Club Octopus. You can see how smoky it is just from the photo.
Cut your hair off
ReplyDeleteDamn the sinuses for turning against you!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I hate to say it, it is nice that Cleveland is non-smoking now. I know that smell you're talking about in your hair and even though I'm a smoker I don't like smelling it in my hair/clothes when I'm sleeping.
Hmm, what if you wore a shower cap to all the clubs? Start a trend.
p.s. I just realized now on this blog that I've been reading everything backwards. I shoulda started with this one instead, I started with the most recent. haha
miss you!!!!
Shower cap and surgical mask. Totally going to do it.
